Unconventional Project Does What Organized Religion Can’t
Salt Lake City – The Jesus 4 King project is conducting workshops in Utah in November and December to help people become spiritual leaders of their families and communities. Interested volunteers can utilize free resources from Jesus4King.org, where they can also sign up to host a small group workshop.
These things are not being done in a corner. Community and religious leaders are being contacted and asked to repent and obey God. Community leaders are warned of the public consequences for failing to be godly stewards, while religious leaders are called to account for consuming people’s focus, efforts, and resources with the traditions of men.
Chris Stevens, founder of Jesus4King.org, says, “In order to stay in business, organized religion has to create the illusion that people must depend on them in order to connect with God. They are a counterfeit savior. We help people break free from their guilt-induced control and develop a highly relational home church.”
Claiming to be part of a growing movement of people around the world who are rejecting “manmade Christianity” in favor of pursuing genuine spirituality, Chris says, “There is a spiritual revolution underway because many people want to make a difference but are ill-prepared because of the pervasive ‘leave-it-to-the-experts’ propaganda. This mentality has impacted society in a lot of negative ways; with families probably hurt the most.”
He continues, “The priesthood of all believers is a New Testament concept that is rarely emphasized by those whose paycheck or social status depends on unbiblical perceptions. These are usually the ones who are most aggressively opposed to the spiritual revolution.”
The Jesus 4 King project seeks to enlist, enable, and encourage volunteers to develop highly relational small groups where people help themselves and each other to grow spiritually and stay engaged and involved in meaningful work. Visit Jesus4King.org to volunteer or learn more.
ABOUT – Jesus4King.org was launched to combat Biblical illiteracy and anti-Christian influences, which many say are the cause of unhealthy and often violent problems plaguing our culture, including: widespread corruption; dishonesty; drug and alcohol abuse; sex abuse; welfare dependency and bankruptcy; and the ethical/moral/religious/family decline.
